In Want of Connections (winter 2023) is a tabletop roleplaying game without a game master that fosters communal storytelling and worldbuilding—all done by drawing, growing, and annotating family trees.
It focuses on building connections and community, as well as a diverse pictography on the game "board" filled with objects, relations, and more.

In Want of Connections has players tell the story using their own, regency-era family trees. These trees become more and more interwoven as the game progresses, with connections through important relationships, characters, and objects. Each turn, players will choose either a Development, Introduction, or Object card, and follow its prompt to improvise something new onto the game's "board": a large, blank sheet of paper on which players draw and annotate their growing family trees.
